That’s probably a good idea. There will also be some opportunities for hiking (nothing too intense or steep) that might call for shoes one doesn’t mind getting dirty.

There are several different buildings that you will be using during the BLUR program, and each one has its tendencies as far as the AC goes. You will figure this out by experience, and within a few days you will know which days/times to bring a sweatshirt or cardigan.

It’s moving-in time! This Sunday, June 16th, BLUR students will be arriving on the beautiful campus of Sweet Briar College.

Below you will find a link to a map showing you the location of Manson Hall. Note that there are parking lots in front of and behind the dorm. Just follow the posted signs. Resident Assistants will be waiting to help you unload your cars. If you are arriving by plane, train, or bus, please make sure you have filled out the on-line travel form on the BLUR website.

Here is the schedule:

9AM-3PM

Move-In, Manson Hall

Note that the first provided meal is dinner. Please let our TA staff know if you’ve arrived early and would like to get breakfast or lunch.

4PM

Opening Ceremony, FAC Class of 1948 Theatre (Parents are welcome!)

5-5:45PM

Dinner, Prothro

BLUR Students/Staff: Please wear your bracelets.

Parents/Guests: You may purchase dinner in Prothro for $8.50.

5:45PM

Major Art Check-In, Prothro Lobby

Meet your Studio TAs in the Prothro Lobby to head to Major Art. They will be holding signs! Parents depart.

6-7:45PM

Would you recommend bring any "school supplies" notebooks maybe a binder stuff like that?? Or a backpack?

It depends on which studio you are in. Visual Artists and writers should have received a supply list. A backpack might not be a bad idea, just in case. We will be going on one hike—a very easy one, not very steep terrain at all—and you might want a backpack to carry a bottle of water, etc.
